Screwed Over
Pool builder put the pool in the ground without a construction certificate, causing stress and major delays to the project to rectify with local council.
Retaining walls were built as part of the contract but under a separate development application. The pool builder did not pay the subcontractor. The subcontractor contacted us for payment however we paid the pool builder because the contract for the works is with them, They will not proceed with an occupancy certificate because of monies owed to them.
A private certifier was engaged for the pool build and they will not issue an occupancy certificate because the pool builder has not paid the certifier.
The pool builder contacted us to advise that the heat pump had been recalled and needed to be replaced. The builder took the heat pump but did not replace straight away. It took six months and constant chasing up to get the heat pump replaced.
A channel drain was installed as part of the project and has been left open with no drain covers. Were promised a number of times that this would be done and still not completed.
The project has taken over 18 months for a fiberglass pool, retaining walls, pool fencing, equipment and concrete surrounds.
We had similar experience to another post on this review site. Has been a very stressful and distressing experience.
